Through a shared contact I came in contact with Matthijs. A baker with great ambition and passion. Working from his shed in his backyard to create incredible pieces of bread and pastries. I shot a series of images for his Instagram and for large prints in his recently opened bakery in the heart of Leiden.
We talked about the goal of capturing the essence of artisanal bread and what it means to be a baker in these modern times while using the ancient technique of sourdough bread baking.
